Piñon Wood Ranch has been showing Shetland Sheep at nationally recognized sheep shows and wool festivals for the past 5 years. We show our sheep to get feedback from the experts in the sheep world and to stay in touch with other breeders. This helps us make sure we are keeping our breeding program on track and fulfilling our mission statement to prepetuate the breed at its highest standards. Animals that do not possess the desired characteristics of the breed are either wethered and kept for fleece or are sold as pet animals or culled from the herd.
We have been fortunate to show our animals for 5 years and bring home 5 Reserve Champion Ribbons!
